* As for Goin'Nuts pictures (got the game only last year...), It was not the same way around !!!!!...... Not at all !...., and I only finished up the restoration a couple of days prior to "Vierzon Coin Op Show" in April this year !.......... I got the game with most of the playfield plastics badly broken, a backglass in fair condition, a cabinet kinda loose and damaged at the botom, plus lots of specific cosmetic details missing or incorrect ...... It was more or less in working condition, though....... The very good point, however, is that I could get a NOS playfield, in the deal; the original pf was worn to bare wood 30-40% of total areas ..... The game was played heavily for sure and I had to overhaul most of the electromechanical devices, which was not a real problem, actually ...... .. Despite the expense, somewhat unreasonable (not only to buy the game !, as I had to count with shipping to France plus the customs fees & French sales taxes that represent roughly 35-40% of the declared value !!!......) , it was still a genuine GOIN'NUTS (far better than no Goin'Nuts at all !....) and one of those 10 games ever built on this planet .....On some aspect, it was worth the money spent, I believe..... The restoration process for this game was indeed a lot of work and time (and money !) consuming, but finally it was just a lot of fun !..... I could not have completed this restoration without the great help of 2 persons= Steve Charland, proud owner of a GN in California. We helped each other for restoration of the games we have. Steve was lucky with his game, as he could find inside its cabinet some original drop targets still bearing the original "acorn" artwork . He reproduced a set for me. None of the Goin'Nuts playfields on the Internet preserved those original "acorn targets" and the correct bumper colors= plain white ....... There is still an open issue there, as Steve and I suspect that bumper caps (GN has 7 !...) had stickers bearing some kind of squirrel or acorn artwork on them ?.....(as on Q*B'sQ......) Only a factory or press pix of the playfield would tell it for sure .... Steve is seeking after the artwork designer of the game and he will get in touch with her one day I guess ! ..... Steve, do you read this ???!!!!..... (Just teasing a little bit !...) On the playfield plastics issue, I was not too optimistic from the very beginning ! , and I questionned some of the big names in the pinball business throughout the US ...... Although some of them ensured me that some NOS sets were around and would certainly pop up one day , I figured that chances were definitely too low for me to put my hands on one of these in the next 10 years ; So I had them reproduced by a professionnal in serigraphy and advertising here in France= Mr Francois Duchene (email= berruees@club-internet.fr); This was a peculiar task, since some of the plastics were missing a significant portion that had to be digitally rebuilt. All of the plastics were finally reproduced indeed like the originals !........ Again, Big Thanks and Cheers here , to both of you guys !!!.........
Thanks J R !! :)
